Why Halcyon?

The name Halcyon derives from the ancient mythical bird which was said to charm the wind and the waves into calm and is used to denote a time of peace, happiness and tranquility – something we’d like every young person we work with to feel.

 

About us

Highfield opened in September 2010 and is going from strength to strength.  Highfield was judged to be outstanding on all outcomes at our most recent Ofsted inspection.

Rigwood opened in 2014 and has been judged to be good at our most recent Ofsted inspection.

The staff at both Highfield and Rigwood aim to offer an environment which is child centred, safe, stimulated and stable.  This is done by providing consistent but individual packages of care as part of a clear social work planning system.  The staff team are committed to working alongside children, their families and social workers to ensure a positive experience for the children.

We aim to meet the needs and raise expectations of the young people and strive to provide the opportunities that every young person needs to develop their potential.
